Brighton & Hove Food and Drinks Festival ! 16-27 April 2014

The Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the south of England, running every Easter and for ten days in September.

With local producers, growers, restaurants, bars and food retailers firmly at it’s heart, it’s a showcase of the fantastic food, drink and hospitality to be found in the city and surrounding Sussex. (Sussex Gourmet and Wine bus tour 2014, The Chocolate Festival, Young cook of the year, Vegfest UK Brighton…)

Rated by the New York Post in February 2012 as one of the world’s leading local food events, the festival also runs and supports food activity throughout the year including farmers markets and the Brighton Restaurant Association.

Fallen Angel at the Theatre Royal Tuesday 4th-Saturday 8th of March

“With their passionless husbands away playing golf, a mutual long-ago-lover announces his intention to pay Julia and Jane an impromptu visit. All in a fluster, there’s clearly only one thing to do: hit the bottle! Or rather, pop open the Champagne!!
As each successive glass of liquid courage is imbibed, tongues start to loosen, hidden jealousies surface, the claws come out, and all attempts at demure behaviour go out the window.
But it’s not until the unexpected early return of their golfing husbands that the women’s evening really hits its frenzied peak…”

with Jenny Seagrove and Sara Crowe.

Ruby Wax-Sane New World, Monday 3rd March at the Brighton Dome

Ruby Wax is a much loved US born comedian, actor and writer based in the UK. Starting out as an actor at the RSC, she went on to write and perform in her own television shows and script edited the entire series of ‘Absolutely Fabulous‘. More recently she has also become a mental health campaigner and gained a Masters degree in Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy from Oxford University.

The show is based on her critically acclaimed book Sane New World which helps us understand why we sabotage our sanity with our own thinking. Sane New World shows us how to rewire our thinking to find calm in a frenetic world and how to become the master, not the slave, of our own minds. This show is your passport to saner living. She might not be sane herself but she does a pretty good imitation.
