Jim White, Proud Brighton Ballrooms, 6th JUNE

“About four years ago I wrote a song poking fun at the trials of Job,” chuckles Jim White from his Georgia home.

“I’m not doing that one any more.”

The past few months have not been kind to the acclaimed Americana singer-songwriter. As he was putting together his latest album Where It Hits You, his wife left him, starting “a long series of crazy things”.

Only two days before he speaks to The Guide he has lost his father, adding to the deaths of three friends last year. Throw into the mix two dead cats and his stepfather who is near death and it is not surprising he is looking forward to going out on the road.

Doors 8pm, tickets £14.50/ £12.50.

Some of the sea spray hotel will be attending this event!
