When Conor Maynard first uploaded a cover of Lee Carr’s “Breathe” onto YouTube back in 2008, little did he know that by 2012 he’d receive over 90 million online views, and would be hailed as the next global chart star. Having been signed by Parlophone at the tender age of 19, Conor initially drew comparisons to another YouTube sensation, Justin Bieber, but soon his distinctive electro-pop sound marked Conor as a rising star in his own right.
In November 2011 Brighton boy Conor went on to win MTV’s Brand New for 2012 award, and his smash-hit debut single ‘Can’t Say No’ hit number 2 in the UK in April, selling 200,000 copies in the UK to date. The highly anticipated second single ‘Vegas Girl’ is due out on 23rd July, and the debut album ‘Contrast’ on 30th July.
This summer looks to be one of total Conor mania; his trail of mass fan hysteria can already be traced from Europe to Canada to North America. Undoubtedly this is a very special chance to catch this talented young man on his way to world domination!
Maynard rose to success in 2012 when he was nominated for, and subsequently won, MTV‘s Brand New for 2012 award.
