Burning the Clocks Tuesday 21st December 2010 at 6.30pm in Brighton!

Same Sky’s Burning the Clocks, one of the biggest community events of the year is back and promising to be bigger and better than ever before! Last year’s event was unfortunately cancelled due to concerns with the severe weather, but this year 20,000 people are expected to take part and watch the parade starting at madeira drive on the seafront.

It’s a great opportunity for families to take a break from the hustle and bustle of preparing for Christmas, and to consider their hopes and desires for the coming year. It is a chance to spend some time making something together, getting gluey and having fun! For the people who come to watch, it is a brief transformation of the city streets….. the traffic stops, the music begins, and a seemingly never ending stream of lit creations streams towards the beach. Seeing each individual lantern, from the tiniest decorated pyramid, to the enormous and glorious lanterns, and working out each person’s interpretation of the theme is all part of the fun.
